South to the Great Ocean Road

Heading home to Tasmania.

With the thrill of the open road once more, I set my sites southward towards the  iconic Great Ocean Road, the coastlines breathtaking rugged cliffs meet the vast expanse of the ocean. Although only seeing a small length of the road, it is spectacular, a trip for the future.

Breakfast awaits just outside my door.

Nature is a endless resource of inspiration, its textures forms and colours leaves us with endless library to be inspired by.

In a textile piece, the contour lines, often associated with topographical maps, represent the undulating edges and shapes of objects in a continuous flow creating depth and distance and a sense of movement in the entire piece.

Natures diverse  qualities can be translated into textile art through observation and interpretation. Spending time in nature is paramount , paying attention to lines and textures, patterns and shapes. Sketch or photograph to keep for your record and a source of future inspiration.

Time to head off over the waters, go home and create with enthusiasm from my inspirational exploration north.
