The Journey begins:

I have been contemplating a road trip of Victoria for some time, In an endeavor to build my passion of textiles business, winter is a difficult time for artists. Having a restless nature, like an itch I cannot scratch, I decided to do it! With creatives to meet and friends to be made.

Traveling and marketing would make for a good life style, this trip will be a good taster.

After a night sailing on the Bass Strait, arriving late in the evening, I found a spot to park not too far from the Port.

After a restful night at the Port, I eagerly set off for my first market, brimming with anticipation. The bustling market was a whirlwind of activity, as markets are at that hour in the morning, the feelings of ‘who do I see and where do I go’ its a little bewildering at a new market.

It was a busy, hot event, I was happy that the end of day was near, to get back on the road and head country!

Hit the road I did. Getting lost heading out of Geelong did not dampen my enthusiasm for a peaceful bush setting. Low and behold after a few hours of driving I found a fantastic camp at Ballan.

I love the look of a road stretched out in front of me, just driving steady, the unpredictability of where I end up.

Ballan- Lots of great dye trees and a very quiet spot.

A lovely restful time at Ballan and some real surprises in the dye pot!

DAYLESFORD

Arriving in Daylesford after a peaceful nights rest. First up was the bakery, of course. Then a wonder about town, a very nice town, well manicured and quite  beautiful very old churches. There are lots of great shops, new and old, I think that’s what I liked most, there were some lovely old cottages and buildings in town.

Daylesford market was a quite traditional market, very busy with lots of colourful people and new friends made and a great hot day.

The Crow & the Cotton.

In the cotton field where the spaces lie, A crow caws loud under the blue sky. Amongst the leaves, it finds its treasure, A world of beauty, beyond measure.

Through the fields of white, the crow takes flight, Its wings a silhouette against the light. In natures embrace, it finds it place. A dance of freedom, a timeless grace.
